Overview

Bank Yourself Silly ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal and financial information. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have over it. By using the service you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

  • Account information — name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash).
  • Financial data — bank accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, and any notes you record within the app.
  • Usage data — pages visited and actions taken, used solely to diagnose errors and improve the service.
  • Communications — messages you send via the contact form.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Bank Yourself Silly service.
  • To personalise your experience, such as category defaults and budget summaries.
  • To send in-app notifications relevant to your accounts.
  • To investigate errors and fix bugs.
  • To respond to contact-form enquiries.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

Data Security

All connections to Bank Yourself Silly are encrypted in transit using TLS. Passwords are hashed using ASP.NET Core Identity's default PBKDF2 algorithm. Financial data is stored in a database accessible only to the application and its administrators. While we take reasonable precautions, no system is completely immune to risk — please use a strong, unique password for your account.

Your Rights

  • Access — you can view all data stored against your account within the app at any time.
  • Correction — you can edit your account details and financial records directly.
  • Deletion — you can request full deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be notified via an in-app notification. Continued use of the service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
